This Web site has been created to inform and to facilitate public input to the Study process. We invite you to learn more about the Study, stay informed through Study updates and meetings, download information, and most important, get involved and provide us with your feedback. At the conclusion of the Study, all information related to the Study will be posted on the Orange County Transportation Council Web site.

OVERVIEW

The Study Area comprises the City of Newburgh, the Towns of Newburgh, New Windsor, Cornwall and Montgomery and the villages within those towns (Walden, Montgomery, Maybrook and Cornwall-on-Hudson). In addition to area-wide assessments, analyses and recommendations for the surface transportation system, this project will focus on key corridors, including US Route 9W, Broadway/ NY Route 17K and Route 300.

Central to the 24-month Study will be an examination of factors that affect integrated transportation and land use planning, such as commercial development, Stewart Airport, the direct connection of NYS Thruway and Interstate 84, and the City of Newburgh’s redevelopment and waterfront revitalization plans.
